For the entire month of October, the streets of Downtown Corpus Christi will be adorned with pink bows to honor those who have fought breast cancer.

For the second year, Radiology Associates and the Downtown Management District (DMD) have partnered together to host “Bows for Breast Cancer,” an innovative promotion in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. In 2019, the event was a fundraiser for Breast Friends. In this COVID era, the bows are being used to bring awareness to the search for a cure and honor those impacted by breast cancer.

Light pink bows will line the streets of the Marina Arts District in memory and support of those affected by this terrible disease. Studies show that 1 in 8 women will develop invasive breast cancer over the course of their lifetime. Last year, Mayor Joe McComb proclaimed October 18th as Coastal Bend Day of Pink, so remember to wear your pink!

“In a time when our public health is at the forefront of everyone’s mind, we are honored to once again partner with Radiology Associates in order to showcase the pink bows in Downtown Corpus Christi and to be able to honor and memorialize those who have fought the courageous battle against this deadly disease.” – Alyssa Barrera Mason, Executive Director of the DMD.

“2020 has been a challenging year; it has impacted all of our lives significantly. Some women have opted to postpone their annual mammograms due to the pandemic. Radiology Associates hopes this collaboration with the DMD serves as a reminder to women in the Coastal Bend that 3D mammograms save lives – and it’s crucial to get them on time. Even during a pandemic.” – Jeannie Anthony, Marketing Director of Radiology Associates

Bows for Breast Cancer will be up until Saturday, October 31st.
