Corpus Christi, Tx. – The Corpus Christi Downtown Management District (CCDMD) has been designated as a 2021 accredited Main Street™ Program for meeting rigorous performance standards for the third year in a row.

The DMD joined the Main Street Program in 2016 as an affiliate organization, marking Downtown Corpus Christi’s commitment to participating in the

state and national professional industry. In 2019, we earned provisional Accreditation based on work completed in 2018. In 2020, the DMD earned full Accreditation based on work completed in 2019.

Each year, Main Street America and its partners announce the list of accredited programs to recognize their exceptional commitment to preservation-based economic development and community revitalization through the Main Street Approach™.

“Receiving this Accreditation for the third year in a row from the National Main Street Program reflects the hard work our team is conducting daily,” said Alyssa Barrera Mason, Executive Director. “Our team continues to strive for this level of excellence and could not be possible without the support and investment of our Board of Directors, the City of Corpus Christi, the Downtown Reinvestment Zone, and the Advisory Council – comprised of corporate leaders who have chosen to invest in our Downtown mission.”

The Texas Main Street Program annually evaluates the DMD’s performance, which works in partnership with Main Street America to identify the local programs that meet 10 national performance standards. Evaluation criteria determine the communities that are building meaningful and sustainable revitalization programs and include standards such as, fostering strong public-private partnerships, documenting programmatic progress, and actively preserving historic buildings.
